How to choose an LED mirror

Most LED mirrors look identical in photos. These are the four things that actually differ, and what we would tell you if you called us.

Light quality is what people get wrong

Cheap LED strips render skin badly and flicker at a rate you do not consciously see but your eyes feel by the end of a shave. The number that matters is CRI, the colour rendering index. Below CRI 80 your face looks grey. We use CRI 90+ on every mirror here, which is why makeup done at one of these still reads correctly in daylight. If you are comparing brands, ask them for their CRI figure. Most cannot answer it.

Size: go narrower than your basin

Keep the mirror 2 to 4 inches narrower than your basin or vanity counter. Wider looks top-heavy, much narrower looks lost. Common pairings:

• 18 to 24 inch basin: 18"×24" mirror
• 24 to 30 inch basin: 24"×24" or 24"×30"
• 30 to 36 inch vanity: 24"×36" or 30"×30"
• Double vanity: one wide mirror, or two matching

Switch type matters more than it sounds

• Touch sensor. Reliable and the most common choice. Works best with dry-ish hands.
• Handwave. No contact needed, and genuinely better right after a shower.
• Motion. Lights up as you walk in. Good for guest bathrooms.
• Plug-n-play. Simplest, with a switch on the wall.

Warm white or natural white?

Warm white is flattering and calmer for an evening routine. Natural white is the accurate one, so pick it if the mirror is used for makeup or shaving. Multi-mode models let you switch between them, which is the safe choice if more than one person uses the bathroom.

Worth knowing before you buy

Indian bathrooms are humid, and ordinary mirrors develop black edges within a couple of years. Every mirror in this collection uses low-iron glass with sealed backing for that reason. Anti-fog is worth adding if your bathroom has poor ventilation, otherwise it is a nice-to-have. All of these are built in our Delhi facility and carry a 5-year warranty that covers the electronics, not just the glass. The LEDs and drivers are what fail first, so that is the part worth insuring.
